A Breakdown Story: both mental and vehicular

Let's just take a quick inventory of my current situation:

  • I've travelled zero miles

  • I'm currently at $2,600 in repair bills for Vandalf the Grey

  • I've been wearing the same clothes since Monday

  • The electricity in my condo was turned off Monday

  • Everything I own is in Vandalf. Which is at the shop

My yearlong adventure story is supposed to be just that: a story. A story of challenges from the road, victories for various charities, and adventures from the road. But, I have to say, fighting through all this before even getting on the road feels incredibly defeating before the journey even begins.

Fortunately, I've been blessed with amazing friends in this town I still call home. My best friend Jesse and his amazing wife Crystal have been kind enough to invite me into their home. Which, to be honest, has been amazing. We've cooked, we've boozed, we've laughed, we've been our ridiculous selves.

So, the first real entry here in this "travel story" is actually about staying put, and enjoying whatever is currently surrounding you. I had planned on sharing some beautiful pictures of the Georgia mountains by this time, but you know.....deal with it. ;-)
