I'm sitting here in a comfortable barstool in my comfortable kitchen while my niece is making breakfast. It smells of bacon. My coffee is hot and delicious and made from the convenience of the Keurig machine sitting to my right. My niece is explaining how she used to be really good at "Kick the Can" when she was a kid.
It is the perfect, comfortable Saturday morning. But, I am restlessly day-dreaming.
It's been since last fall since I've felt that freedom of being in my trusty home on wheels. The 2000 Chevy Express van called Vandalf the Grey. The past 6 months have been the quintessential life that most of us live. I go to work. I come home. I play with my dog. I enjoy family time. But, there's still something missing. After spending half of 2017 and 2018 on the road truly experiencing life and adventure, I find myself longing to be back on the road with Onyx.
I feel 3 - 4 months seems to be my "sweet spot" of extended travel. Anything more, and I become this depressed, sappy dude missing my family. So, here is what the past few months of planning has produced:
A Journey to the Four Corners of the Continental United States.
